Meet Caraline Gunther, LCPC
Therapy should feel safe, supportive, and human.
My goal is to create a space where you can breathe, process, and grow—at your pace.
I believe healing happens when the mind and body feel aligned and supported. Through a holistic, compassionate approach that integrates evidence-based care with emotional grounding, I help clients build resilience and reconnect with their inner strength.
Whether you’re seeking support for your child, your family, or yourself, you deserve a therapeutic experience that feels warm, welcoming, and truly collaborative.

My Focus
My work centers on supporting:
-
children
-
adolescents
-
young adults
-
parents seeking guidance and support for their children
I also specialize in trauma therapy for children and adolescents who have experienced abuse.

I also work with adults navigating:
-
anxiety
-
depression
-
trauma
-
ADHD
-
low self-esteem
-
adjustment to life transitions

My goal is to help clients build emotional awareness, coping skills, and confidence that extend far beyond the therapy space.

My Story
I obtained my Masters of Science in Mental Health Counseling at Manhattan College and a Bachelors of Art in Psychology from Elon University.

While in my master’s program, I worked at a community outpatient clinic for children and families in the Bronx, New York. During this time, I supported children and adolescents experiencing emotional and behavioral difficulties, including trauma related to abuse, and saw how powerful a safe, steady therapeutic relationship can be.

I also have experience working at an outpatient behavioral health center for adults with chronic mental illness, such as depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia/psychosis. In addition, I have worked in private practice with children and adolescents, where I conducted parent trainings and individual therapy.

These experiences strengthened my belief that healing is not just about addressing symptoms—it’s about supporting the whole person within their environment.

Why “Changing Tides”?
The name reflects my core belief: change is possible, even when it feels slow or subtle.
Like the ocean’s ebb and flow, healing is a steady shift—quiet, powerful, and entirely your own. My role is to provide a safe, supportive space where those shifts can take shape.
